DocFila for ChatGPT: privacy details
Updated October 3, 2026. These details supplement the DocFila Privacy Policy for this optional integration, published by NotaNovice UG.
Connecting your account
The current private preview asks you to enter a scoped DocFila API key on its connection page. That key is stored encrypted and linked to your authenticated ChatGPT user ID; a short prefix and connection time are stored for connection status. You can disconnect the preview or revoke that key in DocFila's Organization → API keys settings.
The new official-domain connection sends you to www.docfila.com, where you sign in and approve read or write access. DocFila then issues short-lived access credentials and a renewable connection credential to ChatGPT. DocFila stores hashes of those credentials, your account ID, the granted permissions, and their expiration times. It does not store the readable credential values. ChatGPT sends an access credential when it calls a DocFila tool.
Information returned to ChatGPT
When you use a DocFila tool, the integration returns the requested account, folder, or document metadata. Reading a document returns its extracted text in bounded chunks. Searching returns matching excerpts. Creating or editing sends the text you provide to DocFila, where it is saved as a PDF or a new PDF version. The integration does not return your API key, account email, or file download URLs. A tool can also return a link to DocFila's pricing page.
Returned text, excerpts, and metadata become tool output in your ChatGPT conversation. OpenAI handles that conversation under its own terms and privacy notices. Do not use these tools for content you do not want shared with ChatGPT.
Disconnecting and support
For the new official-domain connection, you can revoke ChatGPT access on DocFila. That disables its active access credentials and deletes its renewable connection credentials for your account. For the private preview, disconnect on its connection page or revoke its scoped API key in DocFila. Disconnecting in ChatGPT also removes the connection there.
