How to Edit a PDF on Android (Free, No Adobe)

By DocFila Team · April 27, 2026 · 5 min read

Android doesn't ship with a PDF editor. The Play Store is full of "editors" that only let you draw on a PDF — not actually change the text, images, or pages. DocFila for Android gives you the real thing, free.

Install DocFila for Android

Get DocFila free from the Google Play Store. The app runs on Android 8.0+ and works offline once installed.

Edit text directly

  1. Open the PDF in DocFila → tap Edit → Text.
  2. Tap any paragraph. The toolbar lets you change wording, font family, size, colour, and alignment.
  3. Tap Save. The edit is embedded into the PDF — no overlay layer.

Replace, add, or remove images

Tap Edit → Image to insert from gallery or camera, or to swap an existing image. Two-finger pinch resizes, drag repositions. Tap an image and choose Delete to remove it cleanly.

Manage pages

The Pages tab shows thumbnails of every page. Long-press to reorder, swipe to delete, tap the rotate icon for landscape/portrait fixes. Tap Add Page to insert a blank page or import another PDF.

Annotate, sign, and form-fill

Use Annotate for highlights and freehand notes, Sign for e-signatures, and Form to fill interactive PDF forms. Combine with compression before sharing large edited PDFs.
