How to Edit a PDF on iPhone — Free, in 2026

By DocFila Team · April 27, 2026 · 5 min read

iOS lets you sign and mark up PDFs, but you can't actually edit a PDF — change a typo, swap an image, delete a page — without a third-party app. DocFila gives you full PDF editing on iPhone for free, with no Adobe subscription.

Edit text in a PDF on iPhone

  1. Open the PDF in DocFila.
  2. Tap Edit → Edit Text.
  3. Tap any text block. Edit, change font, colour, or size.
  4. Tap outside the box to commit. Tap Done to save.

Add or replace an image

Tap Edit → Image → Add, pick a photo, and drag it into place. To replace an existing image, tap it and choose Replace. Resize with two fingers, rotate with the rotation handle.

Reorder, rotate, or delete pages

Tap Pages in the bottom toolbar. Long-press a page to drag it to a new position, tap the rotate icon, or swipe left to delete. Insert blank pages or merge in another PDF from the same screen.

Sign, fill forms, and add notes

Use the Sign tool for your saved e-signature, Form for fillable fields, and Annotate for highlights, comments, and freehand drawing. All edits are non-destructive until you tap Save.

Compare with Apple's Files app

Apple's Files app supports markup (highlight, draw, sign) but not real text editing, image replacement, or page-level operations. DocFila adds those in a single free app — and exports a clean, fully-edited PDF every time.
